The Bleeding Edge - Editing Sex and Violence

In this one-day workshop, a small group of participants will have the chance to cut an actual scene under the supervision of Dutch film editor Job ter Burg, ACE, NCE ("Elle", "Brimstone", "Borgman").

Each participant will have their own Avid Media Composer system. After an overview on the challenges of editing sex and violence the session will focus on the structure of a scene, the power of the point-of-view and the delicate ways in which editing can be used to create meaning, as well as on editing room politics - in particular when dealing with R-rated content.
